Paper Dress

Product, New York City

Can we combine Fashion with Architecture?

We designed a series of paper dress that combines architecture with fashion. Both disciplines share a similar idea – creating a shelter to house a human body. For some of the views, the boundary between a space and the interior of a dress is blurred. Paper is a ideal medium because it is flexible but can obtain rigidity through various structural manipulation.

Can fashion designer become architects or vice versa? As digital technology makes 3d modeling and prototyping more accessible to everyone. The boundary between disciplines are getting blurred. Of course, we don’t immediately see ourselves designing clothes of Louis Vutton, but maybe their store can be inspired in a meaningful way by their dress like this one we did for Bryon Lars.

The series of artwork was selected by Indiewalls to install at Herald Square Hotel.
